Mayor Feichthaler reported that the City, Lee County and several environmental groups reached a tentative agreement regarding the Ceitus Boat Lift at the meeting held last Thursday. City Council approved the commitment of $ 1.5 million dollars, from the City's General Fund reserves, to be placed in escrow for the possibility of installing a new dam on the NW Spreader Canal System. Have You Had Your Fruit Smack Today?
Mike "Q" Quaintance, President
Many of my e-newsletter and newsletter articles have been focused around the activity of eating lately.
Yes, admittedly I am a food junkie, but something else is eating at me too. The Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral and the Cape Coral Chamber Foundation created a website that allows Chamber members to post discount certificates free to encourage people to utilize the goods and services provided by the members.
This site is being promoted on the Chamber website with a large banner ad, we have purchased three months of advertising with Comcast (900 commercials), we are promoting the site and service internally to our members weekly and yet we have only 5% of our members participating.
The first date we promoted these existing discount certificates offers to the members we had two members sell out of their certificates that they offered. I hear several of our members complain that business is off by 20% - 30%. Several members have shared that they think that the Chamber and the City need to be doing more to help them. Guys and Gals, it is difficult to help you if you aren't taking advantage of the opportunities you have.
Please call the following Chamber Team members if you want to learn more about the opportunities we have to help you.

"You can take the horse to water, but you can't make it drink", maybe you'll try the Chamber Kool-aid we are trying to make it better! Trivia, did you know that Kool-aid was originally called Fruit Smack prior to be sold to General Foods?
