Relay For Life Sponsors Needed

We invite you to join the Cape Coral community in the continuing battle against cancer as a 2008 Sponsor for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. This event will provide an effective way for you to reach your market while helping create awareness about cancer.

May we count on your corporate support this year? Over the last six (6) years, with the help of our sponsors and the community, the Cape Coral Relay raised

$ 1,092,316.00 for the fight against cancer.

The American Cancer Society conducts Relay for Life throughout the United States. Six years ago Relay for Life became the country's biggest single fundraising event. Relay for Life is not just about raising dollars: the aspect of community, survivorship and caring is a combination unique to the American Cancer Society.

This year's event will be held at Mariner High School on April 4&5, 2008. The theme is "Movie Magic". Cancer survivors are invited to begin the Relay by walking the Survivor's Lap. Then members of the teams take the track throughout the entire 18 hours. A Luminary Ceremony is held where candles are lit in remembrance of those who have lost their battle with cancer and in honor of survivors.

Please look over the enclosed materials by clicking here.

We are looking to finalize our sponsorship commitments by December 31, 2007. If you wish to contact us, please call 936-1113, ext. 113.

No experience necessary.  You do not have to have been a Boy or Girl Scout.  All you have to have is an interest and, hopefully, a desire to be a better you.  As a young adult, you make the decisions and run the organization.  Elections will occur after you have met and familiarized yourself with the other Sea Scout members.

Who is the sponsor of the Cape Coral Sea Scouts?

Cape Coral Power Squadron

914 SE 47th Terrace

Cape Coral, FL 33904

What is the organization of a ship? First see the organizational chart.  Basically, the ship is run and organized by the Sea Scouts with the overall guidance and assistance of the Cape Coral Power Squadron.  The Power Squadron has appointed a "ship's committee" that provides this guidance and assistance to the Sea Scout's skipper.  The skipper is the key officer of the Sea Scouts Ship.  The skipper provides advise and direction to the Boatswain and the Sea Scouts who actually plan and conduct the program.

When will we meet Depending on the Sea Scouts availability, the current plan is to meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month from 7-9 PM.

Parents: We encourage  parents to join the Power Squadron, participate in the Boat Smart course, interact with the Sea Scouting initiative and to participate in the Power Squadron educational and social activities.

Q-TIPS

Mike "Q" Quaintance, Chamber President

WWW.CAPECORALCHAMBER.COM is here to help!  Did you know that you can see how often the Chamber has exposed your company to potential new business?  Our new software records the number of times your business category has been searched and you have been found.  It records how many times people have selected your website through the complimentary link on our website.  It records how many Front Desk referrals we have given out at our Welcome Centers.  If you have a banner ad it records that activity too.  Just go to the "members only" tab and select it.  Type in you confidential username and password and then choose "Referral Report".  If you don't know your confidential access information, please call Stephanie Roberson at (239) 699-8442.

Chamber Certificates.Com

Mike "Q" Quaintance, President

The Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral announces its newest Member Service, Chamber Certificates.com. The Chamber Certificate Program was created to aid our Cape Coral Chamber members in marketing their products and services while providing an opportunity for participation in the Cape Coral Chamber Foundation.

The Cape Coral Chamber Foundation exists for one purpose, the betterment of our community. We do this through providing high school scholarships, school awards programs, supporting school needs, leadership programs, and building an enhanced gateway to our community.

The Chamber Certificate Program works like this. Chamber members post discount certificates on

chambercertificate.com at no cost. Members and the general public go to chambercertificate.com to purchase those certificates at 20% of the face value of the offer. In other words, if a business provides a certificate with a $25 value toward the purchase of goods or services a person can purchase the certificate for $5 and obtain a savings of $20 on their next purchase.

The $5 goes to the Cape Coral Chamber Foundation and that money is used to fulfill its mission. The certificate is purchased online using PayPal. The certificate is printed with a unique number for redemption at the member providing the offer.

The member is notified of the purchase immediately via e-mail. For tracking purposes that e-mail will also include your contact information and certificate number.
